Capgemini – Future Leaders

The Challenge

The Future Leaders Programme has over many years been a prestigious and sought-after leadership development experience at Capgemini. Designed for high performing and high potential candidates, it aims to accelerate their development and create a pool of diverse and well-equipped leaders of the future and has a reputation for being experiential, challenging, practical and inspiring.

The Process

Maynard Leigh has been involved with Future Leaders since the beginning. Capgemini asked us to evolve the learning journey, making it fit for 2024 and the decade ahead.  A core part of the request was partnership with the Capgemini team, incorporating their analysis of the challenges leaders will face in the coming decades, and to co-design a programme  that would develop a pipeline of talent to lead the organisation into the future.

Over a series of diagnosis and design meetings, the Capgemini and Maynard Leigh teams worked closely together to create a series of interventions that combined multiple modalities and styles, all of which maintained a sense of excitement, high-engagement and practical output. These were followed up with regular project meetings for the joint delivery team, which not only ensured that each module was delivered efficiently, but also that the programme design continued to evolve dynamically.

Key Content

This is an extensive programme, and is based around a variety of tools, models and frameworks, delivered in a mix of environments from a 1000-seater theatre to virtual classrooms.

After an initial kick-off event, it starts with a bespoke 360 feedback tool which gives participants an initial benchmark.

Some of the concepts that they will work with over the course of the rest of the modules include:

  • Emotional Intelligence
  • Action focused coaching
  • Intrinsic motivators
  • Assertiveness
  • ACE Teamworking
  • Psychological Safety
  • Executive Presence
  • Situational Leadership
  • Powerful Presentation
  • The Insight tool
  • Circles of Influence
  • Six thinking hats
  • Laws of Conversation
  • The Stories Leaders Tell
  • Shareholder Management
  • Working with Difference
  • Growth Mindset
  • Proactivity & Responses to Change

In order to truly change behaviours and mindsets, individuals need to have their norms challenged and questioned. We do this by:

  • Getting personal – Our feedback to individuals is specific, challenging and insightful. However, it will always be given with respect, and with the purpose of contributing to develop.
  • Taking people out of their comfort zone – Our courses encourage people to be on the edge. We create an environment where is safe to take risks and to step out.
  • Giving learners an experiential environment – Participants are constantly challenged to try new ways of doing things, encouraged to break habits, and to push the boundaries of their expression and behaviour.
  • Building in plenty of energy – We use challenge, interactivity and creative demands that keep everyone learning and growing.
